Take the wheel yourself. Our dune buggies are Polaris RZR, Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo RR, Kawasaki Teryx and a 3000cc Power Buggy, and they run in the open red dunes of Lahbab with a lead guide. Book 30 minutes to 2 hours, self-drive to our base or take hotel pickup, and add dinner and a desert camp if you want the full evening.

Which buggy should I choose?

  • Polaris RZR 1000cc 1-Seater: a single-seat 1000cc buggy for solo drivers who want full control. Best for solo travellers and experienced drivers.
  • Polaris RZR 1000cc 2-Seater: the most popular buggy in Dubai: forgiving, fast and ideal for first-timers and couples. Best for couples, friends and first-time buggy drivers.
  • Polaris RZR 1000cc 4-Seater: a four-seat 1000cc buggy so a family or group can share one ride. Best for families and groups of 3-4.
  • Polaris RZR Turbo 1800cc 4-Seater: turbocharged power for groups who want more than the standard 1000cc. Best for groups of experienced drivers.
  • Can-Am Maverick X3 RS Turbo RR 2-Seater: the top-of-the-range turbo buggy with long-travel suspension built for steep dunes. Best for thrill-seekers and confident drivers.
  • Can-Am Maverick X3 RS Turbo RR 4-Seater: Can-Am turbo performance with room for four. Best for groups who want the most powerful ride together.
  • Power Buggy 3000cc 2-Seater: a 3000cc beast, the most powerful buggy we run. Best for experienced drivers who want the maximum.
  • Kawasaki Teryx4 800cc 4-Seater: a stable, comfortable four-seater, gentler than the sport buggies. Best for families with older kids and cautious drivers.

The Dune Buggy Tour with Sunset & BBQ Dinner (from AED 799) gives you a 45-minute drive at golden hour, then camel ride, sandboarding, dinner and shows at camp, with hotel transfers included.

FAQs

Do I need a driving licence to drive a dune buggy in Dubai?

No licence is required in our desert area. The driver must be 18+ (16+ with a guardian on some models). Passengers can be younger, and ID is checked at the base.

How many people fit in a dune buggy?

1-, 2- and 4-seat buggies are available. The price is per buggy, not per person.

Is pickup included?

Two options: self-drive to our desert base (cheapest), or hotel pickup and drop-off in a 4x4 (from a small extra per buggy, or included in the 'with pickup' prices).

What should I wear?

Closed shoes, light long sleeves and sunglasses. Helmets, goggles and gloves are provided, and a scarf or face cover helps with the sand.

Can first-timers drive a buggy?

Yes. You get a safety briefing and follow a lead guide, and the Polaris RZR 1000 is the easiest to drive.

Can pregnant women or children join?

Pregnant guests shouldn't ride. Children can ride as passengers in 2- and 4-seat buggies with an adult driver.

This is amazing!! We had such a great time! Dune bashing, sandboarding, quad biking, and camel riding were all so much fun. Our safari guide, Emdad, was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the tour, and he made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We had an amazing experience on our desert safari today. It was truly worth the money! All the shows, rides, activities, and especially the food were excellent. Everything was well organized and we enjoyed every moment of the 6-hour safari. The best part was that our 23-month-old baby, Ahaan, also enjoyed the entire experience. We were a little concerned about travelling with a baby, but everything went very smoothly and he had a great time. A special thanks to our guide, Emdad Bhai, who was extremely supportive and helpful throughout the trip. He guided us during every activity and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Overall, it was a fantastic and memorable experience for our family. Definitely paisa vasool! Highly recommended for families, especially those travelling with kids.
